Future Quest Inc. is developing CoastaLinkⓇ, a maritime communication platform based on VDES (VHF Data Exchange System), a new digital information exchange standard established by the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and promoted by its member countries, with the aim of “unifying all maritime communications”. The biggest problem of ship accidents is the lack of a common communication standard, which leads to accidents between ships and delays in rescue after accidents.
